This additional force helps prevent harsh bottom outs and controls the suspension when compressing at high velocity. Application Note #253: Reduce the distance to the bump stops by at least 2 inches to prevent damage to the shocks or shock mounts. This may be accomplished with lift blocks or bump stop spacers.
