The FOX Performance Series shock uses an internal floating piston (IFP) to separate high-pressure nitrogen gas from the shock oil, helping deliver consistent damping and fade-resistant performance. An external reservoir system improves heat dissipation during extended or aggressive use, while the aluminum body transfers heat more efficiently than conventional steel construction. Race-developed damping technology and high-quality materials support dependable performance in harsh environments.
Built for long-term service, the FOX 985-02-002 includes a redundant sealing system, black anodized CNC-machined aluminum components, Teflon-lined heat-treated spherical bearings, and an aluminum reservoir clamp. The shock is fully serviceable and tunable, allowing maintenance and performance adjustments over its service life.
