Our Camburg upper arms address these issues and more.  Replacing the stock ball-joint  with a larger 1.25 uni-ball bearing we’re able to gain wheel travel with a part that is considerably stronger and will last longer under extreme conditions. We build more caster and change the camber curve to correct geometry so the vehicle aligns correctly and improves driving characteristics and handling. Using the latest CAD/CAM engineering software we design these arms to the strictest standards using our FARO laser scan arm to model the OEM parts and frames. Manufactured in-house, we have the tubes CNC laser cut and bent, then are MIG welded in precision fixtures before sending out to be sandblasted and powder-coated. Our in-house CNC machine shop makes all the machined parts including the uniball mis-alignment spacers from heat-treated stainless steel. Designed for Toyota Tacoma PreRunner and 4WD models from 2005 through 2023, Toyota 4Runner models from 2003 through 2023, and Toyota FJ Cruiser models from 2007 through 2014, these upper control arms replace the weak factory ball joints with a larger, stronger uniball bearing system. The design helps increase usable wheel travel and provides improved durability for demanding street, trail and off-road applications.
Camburg engineers these upper arms with additional caster and revised camber geometry to help correct suspension alignment after lifting the vehicle. The corrected geometry can improve steering response, handling and overall driving characteristics while helping the suspension operate more effectively through its travel range. Each arm is designed using CAD/CAM engineering software and OEM component data captured with precision laser scanning equipment. Tubes are CNC laser cut and bent, then MIG welded in precision fixtures for consistent fitment and strength.
Camburg manufactures the machined components in-house, including heat-treated stainless steel uniball misalignment spacers. The finished arms are sandblasted and powder-coated for a durable surface suitable for long-term use. Installation and final alignment should be performed by a qualified technician. Wheel size, offset, backspacing, tire selection and suspension configuration can affect clearance, so trimming the plastic inner fenders or modifying body mounts behind the front tires may be necessary to prevent rubbing.
